UPSC CMS 2018: Eligibility Criteria

I. Nationality

A candidate must be either:

(a) a Citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c ), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Applicant must be in possession of MBBS degree from university recognized by MCI.

 

II. Age Limit

The candidate is only eligible for UPSC CMS 20185 exam if he/she is less than 32 years of age as on 1st August 2018 i.e the candidate must not have been born earlier than 2nd August, 1986.

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories according to the norms.

 

III. Educational Qualification

The candidate must be in possession of MBBS degree from a university recognized by MCI

Or

Candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the Final MBBS examination.

A candidate who is yet to complete the compulsory Rotating Internship is educationally eligible for applying to the examination. However, the candidates will be appointed upon selection only after he completes the compulsory Rotating Internship.

UPSC CMS 2018: Exam Pattern

UPSC CMS exam will be conducted in two parts: Part I and Part II

Paper –I  

Computer Based Examination (500 marks)

The candidates will take the Computer based examination in two papers, each paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks.

Each paper will be of 2 hours duration.

Part-II

Personality Test (100 marks)

Candidates who qualify in the computer based examination will be called for Interview/ Personality Test. The Interview/ Personality Test will carry 100 marks.

Final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of performance of the candidate in Computer Based Test as well a Interview/ Personality Test.
